PORTLAND, OR --Contrary to initial news reports, a large gathering of sullen,
unemployed youths wallowing in trash-strewn squalor in a riverside park was not
an Occupy Wall Street demonstration. City officials now believe the group
consisted of squatters from this Pacific Northwest city's enormous community of
homeless vagrants.
